I keep seeing agendas for board meetings but I was wondering if minutes are available so we can read what happened during the meeting.

It takes a while before minutes are approved and subsequently posted at http://www.dekalb.k12.ga.us/board-of-education/meetings-and-minutes. I don’t see anything posted since November 2011.

So has the BOE just stopped recording and approving minutes? The Open Meetings Act requires that minutes be made available immediately following the next regularly scheduled meeting.

The minutes are recorded and approved at subsequent BOE meetings. The administration has obviously not updated the website in a timely manner. The minutes should be easy to produce in response to an Open Records Request. DSW has instructions on how to do that.
